Two component epoxy floor coating free of solvent or water

Two-component, colored, solvent-free, epoxy floor coating (VOC 0g/L). The application is done with a notched trowel on a properly primed and flat substrate without rising moisture, with a minimum thickness of 1,5mm. Suitable for interior floors with chemical and mechanical stress, such as: factories, warehouses, parking lots, shopping malls. It can be mixed with PLANOCOLOR GRANULATES S 500 sand in a ratio of 1/1 by weight. It can also be mixed with natural granulates PLANOCOLOR GRANULATES MR, lightweight coated granulates PLANOCOLOR GRANULATES LC and recycled glass granulates PLANOCOLOR GRANULATES RC GLASS in order to create polished terrazzo coatings with binder in shades of the PLANOCOLOR RESIN RAL color chart. The advantage of this system is the ability of application in large, uniform surfaces with few joints. It is also applied as a colored substrate before the application of PLANOCOLOR LIQUID GLASS. Upon request, it is available in the PLANOFLOOR EPX FREEZE version which is applied at temperatures from  0°C and above.

Description

  • PLANOFLOOR EPX is used as a self-levelling and coating for protection of floors, concrete and cement mortars such as:
    • interior industrial flooring in production, maintenance and storage areas
    • medium traffic floors such as garages, and car parks
    • floors with normal use such as public buildings, schools, offices, hospitals, showrooms
    • in combination with quartz sand of suitable granulation to create an anti-slip coating

Substrate preparation:

The application surface must be clean, free from grease, old coatings, loose elements, compact with a compressive strength of at least 25 N / mm² and a tensile strength of more than 1.5 N / mm². In addition, the surface must be dry and protected from rising moisture with a residual moisture content <4% by weight, determined by the CM or Darr method. Concrete substrates should be mechanically prepared, for example, by grinding to achieve a uniform surface of open porosity without protruding spots. Where smoothing is required, the use of controlled curing and drying mortars such as one of PLANO 120, RC 240 or NOVACEM RAPID FLOW is recommended according to the requirements of each application. Existing cracks in the substrate must be bonded to the EPO FLUID or EPO PASTE two-component epoxy adhesive. Absorbent substrates should be primed with the WATER PRIMER EPX epoxy primer in a continuous coating without pores. If necessary, for example on substrates of reduced mechanical strength, apply two coats of primer. Non-absorbent substrates, such as existing ceramic tiles without rising moisture, are recommended to use PLANOPRIMER EPOXY. Metal surfaces require rust cleaning by mechanical means, wire brush, sandblasting or using the RUST CONVERTER and then PLANOPRIMER EPOXY. Preparation of the mix:

Before mixing the two ingredients, agitate thoroughly with component A. When the addition of all component B to component A is complete, mix for at least two minutes with a low speed (300 - 400 rpm) electric mixer until a homogeneous mixture is created. Subsequently, quartz sand PLANOCOLOR GRANULATES S 500 is added in a maximum ratio of 1: 1 to the weight of the mixture and stirring is continued for an additional 3-5 minutes until the mixture is homogeneous. Avoid excessive mixing in both time and speed to reduce the risk of air entrapment and shorten the shelf life of the mixture.

Application of the mix:

Apply the mixture to a thickness of 1.5 - 3 mm with a toothed spatula. Then smooth out and remove the trapped air with a spike roller. If there is a requirement for a non-slip surface, then in the fresh coating, the quartz sand PLANOCOLOR GRANULATES S 500 or other, depending on the requirements of the application, will be applied. After hardening of the layer, uncoated granules of quartz sand must be removed with a high absorbency vacuum cleaner. Then apply a PLANOFLOOR EPX sealing layer until the quartz sand that has remained on the surface after cleaning is adequately covered (approx. 200 g/m²).
