FC 10

Multi purpose fast setting and hardening hydraulic mortar

Fast setting cement based compound which sets within 10 min. It is recommended for various fast applications such as fixing heating panels, door frames. It can be used for fast cement screed repairs, bonding tiles in repair jobs or for drain formation prior to the application of waterproofing mortars such as SC 200 PENETRATE or SC ELASTIC.

Description

  • FC 10 quick-setting hydraulic cement mortar is suitable for:
    • quick concrete repairs indoors and outdoors
    • leaks on cementitious surfaces
    • construction of wells where they will receive liquids in a short time
    • installation of electrical panels
    • ppot restorations up to 50 mm filling gaps and minor defects
    • tiling in repairs
  • Form: powder
  • Application thickness: 1 - 50 mm
  • Workability: approx. 10 minutes / 20°C
  • Application temperature: from +5°C up to +35°C

Substrate preparation:

The application substrate must be structurally stable, completely clean without grease, oil, loose elements, and anything else that may affect the flow and reduce the adhesion of FC 10 to it. The minimum tensile strength of the substrate must be at least 1,5 N/mm². Existing cracks on the substrate should be bonded with the fluid epoxy resin EPO FLUID. On the still fresh EPO FLUID surface, scatter S 500 silica sand or similar to create a mineral surface.

Preparation of the mix:

Mix the content of the 5kg paper bag containing FC 10 with 1,2 1,3 liters of clean and fresh water by means of appropriate electrical stirrer at low speed (500 rpm) until a viscous uniform mortar free of lumps is obtained. The mortar must be used within the next 10 minutes (in a temperature of +20°C). Higher temperatures reduce and lower temperatures increase the working time of the
mix.

Application:

FC 10 is applied, immediately after stirring, to a well-soaked surface, without stagnant water, using a trowel or spatula. Concentrate the material with the help of a spatula, to ensure full contact of the mortar with the substrate. In the case of a local leak repair, press firmly on the application point for a few minutes until it hardens. The material will be heated gradually until the hydration reaction is complete.

Recommendations:

FC 10 shouldn’t be applied:

  • In cases where the substrate and environment temperature is less than +5°C or higher than +35°C
  • On substrates with tensile strength less than 1,5N/mm²
  • Directly on anhydrite, metal or flexible substrates or substrates subjected to rising humidity
  • On substrates not properly prepared or primed
  • On friable or non-properly cured substrates
  • Over existing expansion joints
  • Under direct sunlight and/or strong drying wind

Also note the following:

  • Do not add cement, gypsum, lime or other binders or substances which may affect the mortar characteristics
  • Application should be performed by professional skilled workers

Cleaning:

Tools, buckets, tiles, etc. can be cleaned with fresh and clean water as long as FC 10 mix is still fresh. After hardening occurs, cleaning can take place by mechanical means.
