Water based acrylic primer with high penetrating ability for consolidating absorbent surfaces prior to coverings installation

Water based acrylic primer which is used for substrate consolidation. It has excellent penetrating ability and deeply consolidates loose mortars, such as plasters or cement screeds, as long as they are properly cured. Suitable for ‘stabilizing’ the substrate  prior to the application of cement based mortars such as tile adhesives, self-levelling compounds, putties, microcement coatings, micro-pebble and terrazzo coatings. Also used for waterproofing gypsum boards before applying tiles or PLANOCOLOR ACR or PLANOCOLOR SLR organic plasters. The application of the covering  can take place when the surface becomes dry. If required it can be mixed with NOVACOLOR DESIGN PR.

  • NOVAPRIMER water based acrylic primer with high consolidation properties:
    • is applied:
        • in internal & external areas
        • on absorbent surfaces such as cast concrete, cement based screeds, brickworks, renders, etc.
        • on gypsum and cement boards
    • creates suitable adhesive conditions for:
        • renders, cement based and acrylic dispersion plasters
        • water soluble paints & paints
        • tile adhesives, cement based self-leveling compounds, etc.
        • waterproofing and repairing mortars, etc.
        • microcement screeds of the PLANOCOLOR MICROCEMENT system
  • Form: liquid

Substrate preparation:

The application surface must be solid, clean and free of dust, oils, old coverings and loose parts.

Before applying, shake the container well. Apply evenly one coat using a brush, roller or by airless spray. Depending on the absorbency of the substrate and the desired degree of reinforcement it can be diluted with water up 300%. Application of the covering can take place as long as the surface is slightly dry.

  • Do not apply when the substrate & ambient temperatures are lower than +5°C and higher than +35°C and the relative humidity of the atmosphere exceeds 80%
  • Do not apply on surfaces with humidity that exceeds 4%
