Synthetic resin based primer mixed with quartz sand which creates adhesive bridge on smooth concrete prior to the application of plaster

One component synthetic resin primer, enhanced with quartz sand, which creates adhesion bridge on smooth absorbent surfaces. It is applied on smooth concrete prior to the application of cement-based coatings such as: plasters, tile adhesives as well as mortars such as NOVABOND PS FLEX and NOVABOND PS FIBER in external thermal insulation composite system applications. Suitable for creating an adhesion bridge between plaster and cement in gypsum plaster applications or for bonding tiles with cement-based adhesives to gypsum or cement boards. Available in ‘terracotta red’ color in order to control the coverage of the primed surface. Waiting time before applying the subsequent layer: > 6 hours depending on substrate’s temperature and porosity.

  • PLANO BOND bonding primer:
    • can be used:
        • on internal and external floors and walls
        • on smooth substrates and substrates with low absorbency surfaces such as old ceramic, terrazzo, natural stones, glass and metal
        • on concrete, Gypsum and Cement board, heat insulating panels
    • creates suitable adhesion conditions for:
        • all types of cement, gypsum, lime-based and acrylic plasters
        • tile adhesives, smoothing and leveling compounds
        • repair mortar and screeds
  • Form: creamy liquid
  • Density: 1,55 ± 0,05 kg/L
  • Drying time: 2 - 3 hours
  • Waiting time before applying coating: ≈ 6 hours depending on substrate's temperature and porosity
  • Application temperature: from +5°C up to +35°C

Substrate preparation:

Substrates must be clean, dry, well-cured and free from oil, grease, cement laitance and loose parts.


Before applying stir the contents of the container until a homogenous mixture. PLANO BOND may be applied to the substrate by brush or by roller. The product is touch dry in about two hours.


Avoid using PLANO BOND:

  • In cases where the substrate and environment temperature is less than +5°C or higher than +35°C as well the relative humidity is greater 80%
  • on wet substrates

Also note the following:

  • Protect the tiled surface from rain and frost for the first 24 hours
  • Application should be performed by professional users
