Synthetic resin based primer in water dispersion for absorbent substrates

Water based acrylic primer for absorbent substrates.  It creates uniform absorbency, ‘stabilizes’ and strengthens the substrate. Suitable for gypsum boards, particle boards, cement boards and absorbent wall substrates before the application of coatings such as ceramic tiles, marble and paints or spatula putties such as NOVAFINA or STUCCOFINA, as well as before the application of organic coatings such as PLANOCOLOR ACR or PLANOCOLOR SLR, but also adhesives such as NOVABOND PS FLEX or NOVABOND PS FIBER. Applied undiluted. Part of the (External Thermal Insulation Composite System (ETICS), NOVATHERM SYSTEM.

Description

  • NOVADUR W micronized water-based acrylic primer:
    • is applied:
        • in internal & external areas
        • on absorbent surfaces such as cast concrete, cement based screeds, brickworks, renders, etc.
        • on gypsum and cement boards
    • creates suitable adhesive conditions for:
        • renders, cement based plasters
        • organic dispersion plasters
        • tile adhesives, cement-based compounds, etc.
        • water soluble paints
  • Form: liquid
  • Density: 1,05 ± 0,05 kg/L
  • Application temperature: from +5°C up to +35°C

Substrate preparation:

The application surface must be solid, clean and free of dust, oils, old coverings and loose parts.

Application:

Stir well before application. Apply evenly one coat using a brush, roller or an airless spray. Depending on the absorbency of the substrate and the desired degree of reinforcement it can be diluted with water 1:1. Application of the covering can take place as long as the surface is slightly dry.

Recommendations:

  • Do not apply when the substrate & ambient temperatures are lower than +5°C and higher than +35°C
  • Do not apply on surfaces with humidity that exceeds 4%
  • Protect the surface treated with NOVADUR W the first hours from rain
  • It is recommended that the application be made by a professional user
